IT Security
Why are there so many types of IT security ? The more links in a network's chain, the more opportunities for hackers to find their way in. Each component requires its own subsequent security measures-with many of them overlapping and working in tandem, much like the actual components of a network do.
Hardware / Appliance
A device that is dedicated to a specific function in contrast to a general-purpose computer. The hardware comes pre-installed with its operating system and application. Many consider the router to be the first network appliance.
Software
Software can be thought of as the variable part of a computer and hardware the invariable part. Software is often divided into application software (programs that do work users are directly interested in) and system software (which includes operating systems and any program that supports application software).
Data Centre
A data centre is a facility that centralizes an organization's IT oprations and equipment, as well as where it stores, manages, and disseminates its data. Data centers house a network's most ciritcal systems and are vital to the continuity of daily operations. Consequentially, the security and reliability of data centers and their information is a top priority for organizations.
